Discover how immigrants made Cincinnati the sixth-largest city in America by the eve of the Civil War; how Cincinnati earned its nickname, Porkopolis; how race and religion shaped everyday life; and how Cincinnatians coped with recurring outbreaks of pandemic disease in 1832 and 1849.
