  • Chamber Announces Candidate College

    June 22, 2017

The Chamber of Commerce Serving Middletown, Monroe and Trenton has announced plans to host a  Candidate College designed to prepare prospective candidates for public office. “This will give potential candidates an opportunity to learn from past office holders. I feel it will provide priceless information for those interested in running for public office,” said Tom Scott, co-chair of The Chamber’s Advocacy & Government Relations Task Force.

Over the course of three sessions, participants will have an opportunity to discuss a host of topics with former elected officials and professionals, including how to get on the ballot, campaign finance, ethics and legal obligations, knowing the issues and why you are running. “This program begins to answer some of the questions a potential candidate has before they decide to run for elected office.  If they do decide to run, it will give them a good foundation on where to start and a process to follow,” said Rick Pearce, President/CEO of The Chamber.

Sessions will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on July 25, August 8 and August 22 in the Chamber Conference Room, 1500 Central Avenue, Middletown, Ohio. Total cost of the program is $100 and includes all necessary materials.
